The ad Roy Blunt didn't want you to see

As y'all know, my roots go back a couple of centuries in the norhtern tier of this great state of ours, and one of the things that my Missouri born-and-bred parents, grandparents and great-grandmother instilled in me was to mind my own damned business when something doesn't concern me.

And the first thing I thought when I saw the ad that Roy Blunt and his team put up then quickly took down was "what the hell business is it of ours?"

How would we - hell, how would Roy - react of New Yorkers were weighing in on what we can or can't do with an empty building in an area of Kansas City or St. Louis - or even Springfield?

We'de have a fit and tell them if they want to move to Missouri and pay taxes, then we'll talk.

And lawd-a-mercy, the bluster over property rights would drown out the Blue Angels doing aerobatics at low altitude.

But craven opportunists aren't known for their intellectual honesty - or any other sort of honesty since we're being, well, honest about it.

I thought it took 30 seconds to sum up how they handle that issue (3.00 / 1)
not 26.

a) for the talk of the ad being a distraction, the Park 51/Cordoba stuff is a distraction.

b) Nothing is ever an accident in politics. Although there are attempts to call something back. It's not like they brought in some Freepers to do some web ads for their campaign.

c) Liars gonna lie. And the issue is fundamentally Republicans lying and exploiting an issue and singling out one group. 3 blocks never got opposed, 2 blocks causes the earth to split open and Godzilla to fight Mothra outside of Bayonne.

d) I still wanna know what this United States Church is that Kit Bond speaks of. Are they taking applications for membership?

Hailing from the land of milk, honey, and Democrats

Leave it to the Washington Post... (0.00 / 0)
...The Carnahan campaign claims it pulled the video off of Blunt's campaign Web site late yesterday, and a  local blogger has now put the video on You Tube...
[emphasis added]

...to not bother to look around and do any freakin' homework. Heh. Local blogger, my ass.

This is yet another example of why blogtopia (yes, skippy coined the phrase!) exists.

And never mind the fact (0.00 / 0)
And never mind the fact that the WaPo itself deemed us one of the best state blogs going in their roundup at the end of the year!

What the ad tells me is that Blunt is in favor of (0.00 / 0)
big government and its intrusion into local issues whereas Carnahan is not.  I'd pull it too if I were him.  It's a terrible ad.
